Service line

Completions engineering consulting from engineers who have run the operation.

Completions engineering consulting, well engineering, operational support, and project management for energy operators, led by engineers with two decades in deepwater and HPHT wells.

Problems we are called in for

Where a second opinion saves rig time.

  1. An HPHT completion needs an independent design review

The program is heading for sign off, and nobody who has run a comparable job has checked the completion design. We review the design basis, equipment ratings, and load cases against the well conditions.

  2. A gravel pack has to work the first time

Sand control completions leave little room for a second attempt. We support the design, the job procedures, and the execution at the wellsite or from the office.

  3. The program is short of experienced completions supervision

Rig time is committed, and the team needs a completions engineer who has done the work in deepwater. We provide operational support for the duration of the program.

  4. Several service companies need one coordinator

Completion equipment, fluids, and services arrive from different contractors on different schedules. We manage the completion scope as a project, from planning through close out.

What we deliver

Work your wells team can run the job from.

Completion design basis review
Well conditions, equipment ratings, and load cases checked against the design, with findings ranked by consequence.
Completion program and procedures
Step by step procedures for the job, with hold points, contingencies, and acceptance criteria.
Equipment and fluids specification
Completion equipment and fluids checked against the pressure, temperature, and sand control requirements of the well.
Wellsite and office support
An engineer on the job or on call during execution, reporting daily against the program.
End of well report
What was run, what happened, and what the next well should do differently.

How we work

From design review to close out.

Each stage ends with documents your wells team keeps. Timing follows your well program and rig schedule.

  1. 01

    Review

We review the well data, the offset wells, and the current program.

    Deliverables

    • Design basis review
    • Risk and contingency list
  2. 02

    Plan

We write or check the completion program and procedures with your team.

    Deliverables

    • Completion program
    • Job procedures
    • Equipment and fluids specification
  3. 03

    Execute

We support the job at the wellsite or from the office, against the agreed program.

    Deliverables

    • Daily reports
    • Record of deviations from the program
  4. 04

    Close out

We record what happened and hand the results to your wells and production teams.

    Deliverables

    • End of well report
    • Lessons learned for the next well

Standards and tooling

The API and ISO references we work to.

Naming a standard means we use it as a reference on the well program. It is not a claim of certification against it.

Well integrity, completion equipment, and personnel references used in well work
Reference What it covers How we use it
ISO 16530-1 Well integrity through the well life cycleBarrier philosophy in design reviews
API RP 96 Deepwater well design and constructionDesign checks on deepwater completions
API Std 65-2 Isolating potential flow zones during well constructionZonal isolation checks before the completion is run

Procurement questions

What your wells team will ask before the first call.

Which wells and operations do you cover?

Completions and well engineering in deepwater, high pressure high temperature, and gravel pack operations. Those are the environments our engineers have worked in.

Who leads the work?

Engineers with two decades of field experience in deepwater and high pressure high temperature well operations.

Which standards do you reference?

API and ISO well integrity and completion equipment standards, including ISO 16530-1, API RP 96, ISO 14310, and ISO 10432. Naming a standard is not a claim of certification against it.
